Arriving at Allens Hill Equestrian Centre today was almost like arriving at a BE event, there were so many 4* riders there, all brushing up on their dressage.
Massimo came 2nd in Novice 22 to a good horse of Alice Pearsons, so it was really useful as a good guide as to where we might be scored at BE. He is progressing well flat and jumping, he even jumped a double clear affiliated SJ last week.
We have been doing lots of hacking the last few weeks, all the horses are jumping gorse bush skinnies really well, going in water, popping ditches and have all done some faster work, not to get them super fit but just to get them confident working in a more open XC country canter, the oldest is only 5 so XC canter work is still fairly new to them, especially after the winter season concentrating on show jumping.
We have entered the first few events and have lots planned over the next 4 weeks to get them on song for all three phases.
Below photos are of 4 year old Sprout hacking over Broad Down way up high over the Malvern Hills, my Mum took the one photo from her garden almost 2 miles away, her house is circled on the pic through his ears!!!
